Adults-only holidays in Side
By Semih Daban ·
Picture the columns of the Temple of Apollo with the sun dropping into the sea behind them. That view is the reason many couples put Side at the top of their list. The next thought is usually: can we find somewhere quiet, without the water-slide soundtrack?
Here's the honest answer up front. Many resorts around Side welcome families, but Side does have fully adults-only options, and we list two of them. Some family resorts, meanwhile, set aside pools, parts of the beach or room types for grown-ups. Whether that's enough depends on what you mean by "quiet", so let's unpack it.
Two very different things
Adults-only hotels don't accept children below a set age. That age isn't universal: it might be 18, 16 or lower. Lukka Exclusive in Kaş, for instance, is listed on a booking site as "Adult Only +12". Always check the exact rule.
Family resorts with adults' areas take guests of all ages but reserve certain spaces for adults, such as a quiet pool, a stretch of beach, a restaurant or specific room categories. You'll still hear children at breakfast, but you can spend most of the day away from them.
An option in Side with adults' areas
Barut Hemera sits on the beach about 3 km from Side's old town. According to the hotel's own website, part of the beach is reserved for adults and there's a quiet pool. The hotel says evening shows are held in its amphitheatre, laid out so the noise doesn't reach those calmer areas.
Some room types are aimed at adults, and you can also choose swim-up rooms or rooms with a jacuzzi. Keep in mind that this is a family hotel too, with kids' clubs and children's pools. It isn't child-free, but it gives couples plenty of room to retreat.
The hotel's beach page also mentions that parts of the seabed are rocky, so pack sea shoes.
Two fully adults-only hotels in Side
- TUI BLUE Barut Andız: in the Side neighbourhood, for guests aged 16 and over, on an all-inclusive basis. Its own sandy beach is across the road, about 150 to 200 metres away.
- Side Golden Rock: opened in 2022; according to tour operators, it is all-inclusive and for guests aged 16 and over. Beach details vary between sources: the official site gives 350 metres to the hotel's own beach and 150 metres to the nearest beach. Ask the hotel about the beach type and how you get there before booking.
Neither hotel is beachfront, so allow for a short walk to the sea.
Fully adults-only, a little further away
If you want an adults-only hotel right on the beach, or a different style of stay, our site also lists options beyond Side:
- Granada Luxury Red in Avsallar, Alanya: beachfront, adults-only, with a private sandy beach and an ultra all-inclusive concept. There's a dress code at dinner.
- Day One Beach Resort in central Alanya: a small adults-only hotel with a breakfast-based concept rather than classic all-inclusive, so it suits couples who like eating out.
- Porto Amore in Gazipaşa: small, listed on booking sites as adults-only, and very close to Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport.
- RuinAdalia in Kaleiçi, Antalya's old town: an adults-only boutique hotel for a city-and-history break rather than a beach week.
None of these is in Side, so seeing the ancient city would mean a day trip.
A middle ground in Belek
Voyage Belek is another family resort that takes adults seriously. One of its two main restaurants is for adults only, and the beach is split into family and adults' sections. It's not far from Side, but you'd be based in Belek.
A couple's day in Side
- Late afternoon in the old town. Side's historic centre sits on a small peninsula where ruins and everyday life overlap. The Temple of Apollo is right on the water. Go when the heat drops; it's cooler and the light is better.
- Manavgat Waterfall. Go Türkiye lists it among the sights near Side. It makes an easy half-day outing.
- Early mornings at the hotel. If your resort has an adults' beach section, get there early. Midday in high summer is both the hottest and the busiest time.
Which will suit you?
An adults' area may be all you need if you'll spend days by the pool or on the beach and evenings out, if children nearby don't bother you as long as they're not right next to you, and if staying close to Side's old town is the priority.
A fully adults-only hotel makes more sense if you want calm from breakfast to dinner, you're planning a honeymoon or anniversary trip, and you don't mind a short walk to the beach or staying outside Side.
Questions to ask before booking
- Is the whole hotel adults-only, or just certain areas?
- What's the minimum age?
- Are the adults' pool and beach area open all season?
- Is the room type you're booking in the adults-oriented category?
- How close is the room to the evening entertainment?
That last one sounds minor, but it matters if quiet is the point. You can add a room-location request to your booking, though hotels can't always guarantee it.
