Hotel Aquarius

Finding a beachfront hotel with its own beach in Kaş is harder than you might think. Hotel Aquarius offers exactly that, according to its official site: a spot on the Çukurbağ Peninsula, right on the shore, with a beach of its own.

We could not confirm what that beach is like. Along the Kaş coast you often enter the sea from platforms on rocky shores, so ask the hotel before booking whether Aquarius's beach is sand, rock or a platform. For families with small children, that question matters.

The board is bed and breakfast, as the official site states. It is a common pattern in Kaş: breakfast at the hotel, the sea by day and dinner in town. The peninsula is calmer than central Kaş, though getting into town in the evening may mean a short drive.

On the plus side, you have direct sea access. Being in the water a few minutes after leaving your room is a comfort not every hotel offers. On the minus side, lunch and dinner are outside the board, and the beach type is unclear.

We could not verify a precise airport distance. The hotel can arrange a private transfer at extra cost, and coming from Dalaman is usually the shorter route to Kaş.

It does not suit anyone expecting all-inclusive, or those who want to walk around town in the evenings; the peninsula location makes that harder.

On the same peninsula, Olea Nova Hotel is also bed and breakfast, but it is a 150 to 200-metre walk from the sea with no beach of its own. Payam Hotel is in the heart of Kaş, about 50 metres from the nearest swimming platform.

The peninsula's sea is at its best for swimming from June to October. July and August middays are very hot, so spend the middle of the day in the shade and swim in the morning and late afternoon. Late spring and September are calm months for Kekova boat trips.
