Limak Lara Deluxe Hotel & Resort

Limak Lara Deluxe Hotel & Resort opened in 2006 on the Kundu stretch of Lara. According to Limak Holding, Antalya Airport is about 10 minutes away and the city centre around 15 minutes, which makes for an easy arrival day.

Our view is that this is a mature, large Lara resort that tries to give every age group something to do. It runs Ultra All Inclusive, has around 441 rooms and sits right on its own sandy beach.

The pool area is generous: the group lists an outdoor pool of about 7,500 m². The main buffet restaurant seats 750, with an open-air dining terrace for another 250, and à la carte venues serve Turkish, Italian and Asian food. On top of that there is bowling, billiards, mini golf, a tennis court, a sauna, a steam room, a Turkish bath, massage rooms, a gym and a hair salon. Children have both indoor and outdoor kids' clubs, useful on very hot afternoons.

What to weigh up

A meeting room for 1,000 people means you may share the resort with conference or event groups at times. The hotel dates from 2006, worth keeping in mind when comparing it with Lara's newer openings. A disco and an amphitheatre also suggest evenings will not be silent.

Not for

Travellers who want a small boutique hotel, or anyone who finds busy shared spaces tiring.

Neighbours

Royal Wings next door is a similar size (457 rooms) and stands out with private-pool lagoon villas, though its beach is mixed sand and gravel, while Limak Lara's is sand. If a bigger waterpark is the goal, Delphin Imperial on the same coast is another option.

Season

Lara's sea is generally at its best from June to September. July and August are hot and humid, which is when indoor options such as bowling and the indoor kids' club earn their place.
